Free Library of Philadelphia, Frankford Branch
The Frankford Library is a longstanding neighborhood branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia, serving as a central point for learning, technology access, and community programs. Located in the historic Frankford section of Northeast Philadelphia, the library provides residents with books, digital resources, meeting space, and educational support for all ages. Its role extends beyond traditional library services, functioning as a reliable community anchor where patrons gather for workshops, literacy initiatives, and public events that strengthen neighborhood connection.
DMA provided structural engineering design and documentation for modifications and renovations to this existing library. In addition to structural repair, our team designed a new cantilevered front entry and supports for the new glass façade, as well as a new stair/ramp on exterior of northwest facade. Interior renovations included a new stepped, multi-level children’s library seating area and design/retrofit for the installation of a new ADA lift.
