Chairman, CEO Executive

David Mason is the founder and Chairman + CEO Executive of David Mason + Associates, guiding the firm’s vision and direction since its inception. A licensed architect with a strong entrepreneurial drive, he co‑founded the firm in 1989 with land surveyor Jim Hacking, growing it from a small St. Louis office into a respected professional practice.

David expanded DMA to include civil and structural engineering, establishing a multidisciplinary team recognized for major site development projects including NFL stadiums, federal courthouses, wastewater tunnels, and long‑standing contracts at Lambert St. Louis International Airport. With nearly four decades of experience, he leads with a design philosophy that challenges convention while balancing practicality and human needs. He continues to collaborate closely with his brother Paul, now a principal at DMA.

He enjoys baseball, golf, and cooking. He and his wife, Christine, have two sons, Taylor and Spencer, both leaders within DMA.
