Recruiter/HR Generalist

St. Louis, MO

DMA is seeking a skilled Recruiter/HR Generalist with experience to recruit for all levels of positions in our company. This role is a crucial part in building a solid foundation and to ensure we attract, hire, and retain the most qualified employees. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources.

The primary responsibility of this role is to fill open positions efficiently and effectively within the organization. Types of positions range from administrative to technical (engineering), Field services, survey, and Union field positions.

  • Work in partnership with Division managers to understand hiring needs, as well as write job posts, send it through approval, and post jobs internally and externally with job boards.
  • Design and update job descriptions
  • Source, screen, and vet qualified candidates before presentation to Division Managers.
  • Use Various effective sourcing strategies, such as internet job boards, networking, resume mining, social networking, cold calling, campaigns, and other channels to attract a diverse pool of candidates
  • Develop a tracking system or talent pipeline to assist long-term with tracking, managing, hiring, and retention.
  • Utilize multiple internet resources, including job boards and social media, keeping up to date with new technological trends and products.
  • Participate and/or attend job fair and potentially of hosting in-house recruiting events.
  • With the HR Director, develop offer letters.
  • Assist in coordination of employee training and development, following up with employees and managers as needed to ensure required training is completed by established deadlines.
  • Involved in development of company policies and updating employee handbook with responsibility for interpretation with implementation in everyday practice.
  • Develop appropriate job descriptions and maintain a database for online access to job descriptions and compensation information.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education / experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ recruiting and HR generalist experience.
  • Proven experience recruiting for all levels of positions; recruitment experience in Engineering is a PLUS
  • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques including internet and social media.
  • Firsthand experience screening and interviewing candidates.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices and federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation.
  • Ability to manage, protect, and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to multitask and change courses quickly without compromising accuracy.
  • Strong administrative and prioritization skills; focused and attentive to detail; highly organized.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Committed and dependable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Some travel will be required to our different office locations or recruiting events.
