Meredosia Ash Pond Closure

The project site is an approximately 60 acres Ameren IL ash pond site in Meredosia, Illinois. The project is the closure of the exiting ash pond site. David Mason + Associates (DMA) established horizontal and vertical control for the project. During construction DMA provided UAS surveying of the bottom ash pond (13 acres) and the fly ash pond (38 acres) to record the existing conditions. DMA provided a point cloud and DTM (digital terrain model) of the existing pond sites. The point cloud was generated using Pix4D software to stitch the aerial UAS photography and ground control targets. After construction, DMA performed a UAS flight of the 60 acres site to provide final construction documentation. Final deliverable was an overall georeferenced aerial image, point cloud, and DTM of the 60 acres project site.
