Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville Outpatient Center

The Northwestern Medicine Outpatient Center brings ambulatory services to the Bronzeville community. It is composed of an approximately 125,000 SF multi-story Medical Office Building composed of ground floor retail, community space and clinical programs including primary care OB/GYN, cancer center, well lab, pediatrics, imaging, ophthalmology, and physical and occupational therapy. Parking for approximately 300 vehicles is provided within an approximately 135,000 SF multi-story parking garage connected to the MOB.

David Mason + Associates structural engineering services include the full design of the five-story building with basement and mechanical penthouse. The building’s structural system is composed of a hybrid system which includes reinforced concrete at parking garage levels and structural steel supporting clinic spaces and the roof. Reinforced concrete shear walls are provided to resist wind and seismic lateral forces. A deep foundation system composed of belled caissons to hardpan are required to support the building.
