Obama Presidential Center’s Home Court
The Obama Presidential Center’s Home Court is a dazzling 60,000‑SF multipurpose facility and athletic center with angular massing, glass, and smooth metal panels. The space, designed by Moody Nolan Architects, includes an NBA regulation-sized basketball court, community meeting and event areas, and a playground that connects the campus to Jackson Park. As the Structural Engineer of Record on the project, David Mason + Associates (DMA) provided the full building structure from deep foundations through the concrete podium and steel framing, including the custom large beams integrated into the column lines and the monumental stair that anchors the interior.
