Kara helps to lead DMA’s structural practice in St. Louis, as co-coordinator of structural engineering. With 27 years of experience, Kara heads the DMA team in the design of schools, hospitals, and medical office buildings. She oversees project budgets, submittals, construction administration, and some forecasting,

Kara believes that the key to a strong program is through the mentoring of young engineers. Her day-to-day efforts are always rooted in guiding younger staff through the challenges presented by each project. Over the past 25+ years, Kara has strived to learn and improve the quality of drawings that are sent out under her oversight and shares that vast knowledge with those with whom she works, helping to reduce change orders and stress for all involved during construction administration.

She loves when projects wrap up and she can stop and reflect on all the positive aspects of the process, as well as opportunities for improvement.
