Jennings Community Center
The Jennings Community Center community new construction project focused on recreation, learning, and wellness. The 60,000 SF facility sits on an 11.3‑acre site and reflects the city’s long‑term commitment to expanding public amenities for residents of all ages. It features a 34‑foot‑tall gymnasium that supports a range of flexible spaces designed for community use. There is a state‑of‑the‑art fitness area, multipurpose rooms, a technology and computer lab, and dedicated after‑school study inside spaces. Outdoor improvements include a new events plaza designed to support gatherings, performances, and everyday community use.
DMA provided civil and structural engineering services, including topographic surveying, utility mapping, sewer structure documentation, and support for site improvements and utility coordination. The team completed a full topographic survey of the 11.3‑acre parcel, documenting existing conditions, visible utilities, sewer structures, and surrounding infrastructure. Coordination with Missouri One Call and surface investigations helped capture accurate sewer structure elevations and pipe information. Tree locations in sparsely wooded areas were mapped, and perimeter outlines were established for denser vegetation zones to support precise site planning.
To guide grading and design decisions, DMA prepared digital terrain models and one‑foot contour mapping. Utility coordination aligned new building systems with existing municipal networks and supported the design of site improvements that will serve the facility well into the future. Structural engineering services further contributed to a resilient, community‑driven building designed to accommodate a wide range of programs and activities.
