River Des Peres LMRDP CSO
This project is part of the MSD’s CSO Long-Term Control Plan (LTCP) and proposed federal consent decree. It includes the design of four primary features: tunnels, high rate treatment systems, pump stations and near surface facilities. A new 28-foot-diameter tunnel approximately 9 miles long will be constructed to store Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) from several outfalls along the River Des Peres channel. This is the most complex and largest of the projects to be included in the LTCP and proposed consent decree program.
DMA services included review of geotechnical data, review of existing as-built structural drawings, coordination with other members of Jacob’s design team and development of architectural and structural design constuction documents for each CSO intake structure.
The project included the design of wastewater treatment infrastructure, design of Vortex chamber drop shafts, tunnel cavern concrete lining design and design of pipe and equipment supports. This project will comply with EPA mandates and federal consent decree.
