Grant’s View Branch Library

The Grant’s View Branch has quickly become one of the busiest branches in the St. Louis County Library District. The library features a two-story glass atrium with abundant natural light and plenty of comfortable seating. Grant’s View has a vibrant teen center, two community meeting rooms, a computer lab and a community garden. Grant’s View replaced the former Tesson Ferry Branch.

The 39,000 SF, two-story steel framed structure was designed to be transparent and welcoming, with floor-to-ceiling windows on the north and east that take advantage of spectacular views of the neighboring park and nature preserve.  A monumental stair anchors the space, surrounded by reading spaces that flow around the low library stacks.

David Mason + Associates (DMA) provided civil engineering and structural engineering services for the Project.  Design Phase and Construction Phase services were provided.  The building was designed to meet LEED Gold requirements, although the submittal of documentation for LEED certification was not pursued.
