Jeremiah Ditch, PLS

Director of Surveying

Jeremiah Ditch provides leadership of DMA’s survey division. Survey is an integral part of the design world and often, the surveyor’s role is to bring the real world to the drafting table, and the design off that table to make the concept a reality. Jeremiah’s responsibilities include oversight and quality assurance of boundary, right-of-way, alignment, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic and design surveys, LiDAR scanning, both aerial and terrestrial, and 3D modeling, construction layout, and management services for land surveying projects. Jeremiah and the survey teamwork with DMA’s clients from pre-planning stages all the way through as-builts and final plat recording after construction of a project is completed.

Surveying is mapping, but with as much accuracy and precision that can be achieved. Jeremiah has always been fascinated with maps, and mapping. From a boy, drawing “treasure maps” while playing pirates, to a young man working summers at his family’s surveying and engineering company, to the present where Jeremiah strives to achieve accuracy on the highest level, mapping and plats have always captivated him.

Professional life aside, Jeremiah enjoys being outdoors and has often looked at the work involved with a survey as an adventure more than a job. Surveyors need to recover the oldest monuments set, which were often stones with chiseled crosses on them, and their trade combines, geography, history, art, and detective work. All things Jeremiah excelled at in school, and in the 22 years in this field, he has honed them well. Moreover, above all Jeremiah loves passing these traits on to others especially his children, and those in need of a “leg-up”. He leads by example and is happy to take on new challenges.
